Full Mailbox
All email accounts have a configured mailbox limit on the Speartek mail server. The limit is configured by *space* and is independent of the number of messages stored on the server. If you use an email client (such as Outlook) to download messages from the Speartek mail server, you can ensure that your mailbox does not get full on the Speartek mail server by configuring the mail client to remove messages from server upon download. See the Mail Client Setup section for more information about configuring your mail client.
If your mailbox is full or approaching its limit, you will need to login to your webmail account to delete unwanted messages. Please note that messages in your Spam and Trash folders on the mail server count toward your mailbox limit. Messages left in a Spam folder will be deleted automatically after 7 days. Messages left in a Trash folder will be deleted automatically after 14 days.
To view your webmail account disk quota and delete messages from the mail server, you can do the following:
- Login to your webmail account with your full email address and password. (Additional Information)
- Note: The URL to access your webmail account is typically "pop." followed by your domain name. For example, if your website is "http://www.samplesite.com," then you would login to your webmail account at "http://pop.samplesite.com." Alternatively, you may login at "http://pop.speartek.com."
- Mouseover Tools and select Accounts to view your disk quota.
- Click the OK button to close the Accounts window.
- Click the Size column header to sort messages within a folder by size.
*This will help you determine which messages are putting you close to your storage limit.
- Select any unwanted messages and move them to the Trash folder.
*See the Move Messages section for help moving messages.
- Click the Spam folder in the folder pane and move any unwanted messages to the Trash folder.
- Click the Trash folder in the folder pane and then click the Empty folder link in the toolbar to permanently delete these messages.
To bypass the setting that requires you to empty your trash folder after deleting a message, you can do the following:
- Login to your webmail account with your full email address and password. (Additional Information)
- Note: The URL to access your webmail account is typically "pop." followed by your domain name. For example, if your website is "http://www.samplesite.com," then you would login to your webmail account at "http://pop.samplesite.com." Alternatively, you may login at "http://pop.speartek.com."
- Mouseover Tools and select Options.
- On the Mail tab and General subtab, uncheck the Move deleted messages to Trash folder checkbox.
